Taylor Swift is on the verge of conquering the UK charts once again! It looks like her latest track, "Opalite," is set to become her sixth UK Number 1 single. But here's where it gets interesting: if "Opalite" holds its ground, it will be the first time one of Taylor Swift's albums has spawned two Number 1 singles in the UK! Her album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has already made waves, and this could cement its place in chart history.
"Opalite" is currently leading the Official Chart: First Look, boosted by the recent release of its star-studded music video and a special 7” vinyl edition. This isn't the first time we've seen "Opalite" near the top; it originally reached Number 2 back in October. The music video itself is quite the spectacle, featuring some familiar faces from "The Graham Norton Show," including host Graham Norton himself, Domhnall Gleeson, Lewis Capaldi, and Jodie Turner-Smith. It premiered exclusively on Spotify and Apple Music on Friday, February 6th, with a wider release on YouTube following on February 8th.
And this is the part most people miss: "The Life of a Showgirl's" lead single, "The Fate of Ophelia," spent a remarkable seven non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Official Chart in 2025. This dual success from a single album is a rare feat in the music industry!
But Taylor isn't the only artist making moves. We're also seeing potential new entries and climbs from a host of other talented musicians. Sam Fender and Olivia Dean's collaboration, "Rein Me In," is tracking towards a new personal best at Number 4. Zara Larsson's infectious hit "Lush Life" might re-enter the Top 5, reaching its highest position since 2016 – can you believe it's been that long?
Keep an eye out for Sombr, who could snag the highest new entry this week with "Homewrecker" at Number 11. This would mark their fifth UK Top 40 hit, signaling their growing popularity.
Fresh from their GRAMMY triumphs and with a Super Bowl halftime show on the horizon, Bad Bunny's "DTMF" is projected to jump an impressive 29 places to Number 14. It previously peaked at Number 26 in January.
There's also a strong debut expected for the new collaboration between Myles Smith and Niall Horan, "Drive Safe," aiming for a Top 20 entry at Number 20. Meanwhile, J. Cole is making a significant impact following his new album, "The Fall-Off," with three midweek entries: "Two Six" (23), "Safety" (27), and "Poor Thang" (32).
We might also see further Top 40 debuts from Calvin Harris and Kasabian with "Release The Pressure" (24), Shakira's "Zootropolis 2" track "Zoo" (35), and Zayn's "Die For Me" (39), the lead single from his upcoming fifth album, "Konnakol."
